This spring, Sparrowhawk Native Plants is joining an incredible community coalition (Social Good Place, Portland Forest School, Friends of Baltimore Woods, Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Green Leaders Program, Friends of Tualatin Hills Nature Park, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, Columbia Slough Watershed Council and The Blueprint Foundation) to provide habitat-friendly and climate-resilient native plants to local gardeners, while proceeds support conservation efforts.
By our powers combined, over 40,000 native plants will take root and about $20,000 will go back to these inspiring community partners. Order plants starting on Sunday, March 1st at 9am for April or May pick-up!
In neighborhoods across the world, folks are realizing the importance of taking action at a local level. This starts in our own backyards, where we’re gardening like the world depends on it! This means we’re supporting pollinators, feeding birds and fighting climate change - all while enjoying fresh air, connecting with nature and meeting neighbors. Join us!!
How it Works
1. Order Plants Online between March 1 - 29 (or all until pop-up locations fill up): Browse profiles of 100+ native plant species from the comfort of your couch. Filter by sun, moisture, and more to find the right plant for the right place in your yard. Some species may sell out quickly, so we recommend getting your order in early! At checkout, select your pick-up location, date and time.
2. Pick-up Pre-ordered Plants in April or May: We'll look forward to seeing you at one of the four pop-up locations this spring. These pop-ups are large, outdoor, parking-lot style events:
- Fri April 17 - Sat April 18 - SE Portland (Social Good Place, 4511 SE Main St, Portland, OR 97215) - in partnership with and benefiting Portland Forest School
- Fri April 24 - Sat April 25 - St Johns (8260 N Central St, Portland, OR 97203) - in partnership with and benefiting Friends of Baltimore Woods and the Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Green Leaders Program
- Fri May 1 - Sat May 2 - Beaverton (15655 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, OR 97006) - in partnership with and benefiting Friends of Tualatin HIlls Nature Park and THPRD
- Fri May 8 - Sat May 9 - outer NE Portland (Level Beer, 5211 NE 148th Ave, Portland, OR 97230) - in partnership with and benefiting Columbia Slough Watershed Council and The Blueprint Foundation
3. Plants for the Planet - Proceeds for the Community: Every season, Sparrowhawk gives back up to $20,000 to the community partners that host each event. So, sink your hands in the dirt and feel good! Your new native plants will support birds, bees, and butterflies in your neighborhood, while proceeds support an inspiring line-up of community partners.

We're a new kind of nursery, fiercely woman-owned and fast-growing to create the landscape of a brighter tomorrow. Instead of a traditional brick-and-mortar, we offer online sales of premium-quality native plants coupled with neighborhood pop-up events each spring and fall for picking up your order. Each pop-up is hosted in partnership with a different community organization that gets a percent of the proceeds.
