Urban Forestry Work

The Intertwine Alliance is committed to the health, expansion and equitable distribution of tree canopy throughout the Portland-Vancouver region.

We are a lead partner, along with The Nature Conservancy and The Blueprint Foundation in Connecting Canopies. The Intertwine Alliance's focus in the partnership is on policy. Resources we've created include:

  • Portland-Vancouver Regional Urban Tree Policy & Programs Report (2024)
  • Equitable Urban Forestry Policy and Program Matrix (2025)

We also serve on the steering committee of Tree for All in Washington County.

This summer we're launching Leaders Engaged in Arboreal Futures—aka LEAF—a youth development workshop.

And in fall 2025, we'll convene a quarterly standing meeting of the region's urban forestry leaders. The purpose is to bring the public, private and nonprofit sectors together to develop best practices, share resources and accelerate urban forestry outcomes on scale.
